“Smiling Ear to Ear”

January 23, 2007

My dad got a “thank you” email a few days ago with this to say,

Thank you so much for the wonderful blessing Math-U-See has been to our family. I am a Math challenged Mom and without Math-U-See I know our homeschool life would not be nearly as harmonious! I am always singing the praises of MUS to other homeschoolers!

I tracked down her blog and found some great pictures, here are a few with some quotes.

Here are the kids proudly posing with their math Curriculum for the year!

I am behind the camera SMILING ear to ear! Math Phobic Mom’s kids LOVE Math! HOOORAY!!!! -Jamin

Looks like some fun multi-generational learning is happening :-)

Click here to visit her blog

The kids will be receiving a few Math-U-Tees to commemorate making their mom “Smile from ear to ear”

Have a great picture or story? send me an email, ethan@mathusee.com

We love Math-U-See also! We love the math blocks, and my children are always playing with them, building houses and other things! I am always telling other homeschool Moms about MUS as well. I have loaned my old curriculum to friends to view, and borrow for a time. I am math troubled as well, so it is nice to have an easy way to teach my children math! Thanks!
    Jamin’s kids are so cute!

  • Jamin’s Husband

I am jamin’s husband and she doesn’t know I am writing this. I was not math phobic and always loved math It always came naturally to me and I never struggled with it. When jamin first told me that she wanted to homeschool, my first thought was how is someone who was math chalenged teach math.

I have always worked fulltime and knew Iwould never have time to teach my kids.

I can testify how well MUs has worked with our kids. When my wife learned math, it was just a bunch of memorization. I told her I learned by “tricks” and patterns and I saw it much different than she did. I never thought of math as just memorization, but rather as a logical way of thinking. she never undeerstood why I liked math. I explaned to her that if it was just a bunch of memorization, I would not have been good at it either. I learned to see the patterns and logic in it rather than just memorizing facts like history. thats also what makes it fun.

I am glad she found MUS as it teaches my kids in this manner.

    Thanks
