Remembering the "old days"…

January 1, 2006

I was just thinking about the good ol? days of Math-U-See.

Back when the books looked like we made them ourselves, wait we did :-) Back when Greek letters were just used in advanced math equations and also back when my dad would dress up as ?mac the muskrat? and sing the skip count songs himself. Yup it?s true, whiskers, furry arms, pink tail and everything.

Luckily for him we don?t have any digital pictures of that event but what we do have is the “original” Mac the muskrat skip count songs.

(sing along)
3-6-9-12-15-18-21-24-27-30 and your done

They are available in the downloads section, just scroll down to the bottom and you can hear Steve Demme singing the skip count songs with his voice speeded up.

Speaking of Steve Demme, it’s his birthday today so leave a comment and wish him a happy birthday!

ROTFL!!! You mean to tell me there are more updated versions of the skip counting songs? We LOVE Mac the Muskrat! LOL I bought 2 tapes at a used curriculum fair years ago (one for the house and one for the car!) and my kids are still loving and learning from them! I cannot imagine teaching my kids multiplication without Mac!

Happy Belated Birthday Steve! I know you probably hear this all the time…But, I cannot even begin to tell you what Math-U-See has meant to our family! My only worry about homeschooling was teaching Math. I was never taught properly and knew I did not have the skills to teach my kids. Our Pastors wife told me about Math-U-See and we have never looked back! I have been so blessed to learn math the right way right along with my kids. (I figure by time I finish teaching my 3rd child I will actually be really good at Math! LOL) My oldest child will be doing Zeta this year. Math-U-See is the only Math Curriculum we have used and the only one we will ever use. Thanks so much for the wonderful gift of Math-U-See. I am so glad I found the Math-U-See blog so I could finally tell you how much you have blessed our family. Thanks! I recommend Math-U-See to anyone who will listen!
